Artist: Sam Kirk and Diana Solis

 

Sam Kirk,

 

Kirk was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and spent most of her childhood jumping from neighborhood to neighborhood with her family. She enjoyed exploring new communities and cultures with each move, providing great satisfaction for her fascination with the differences we all posses.

 

Diana Solis,

 

Diana Solís is a visual artist and art educator who received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her work has been exhibited widely throughout Chicago in various galleries, alternative spaces, and museums. Her public art work include Caracol for the Chicago’s Park District’s Burnham Wildlife Corridor Gathering Spaces and El Abrazo phase I and II murals, a collaborative project with artists Eric J. Garcia and Katia Perez Fuentes for the El Paseo Community Garden in the Pilsen Neighborhood. Her work is part of the permanent collection at the National Museum of Mexican Art, and has shown nationally at various universities, museums, and galleries including the National Hispanic Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and internationally in Barcelona, Berlin, and Mexico City.
